Faith communities - how you can get involved

Find out more about how faith and religious groups can support MHA and download our free resources.

1943 marked the beginning of Rev. Walter Hall’s mission when he and a group of Methodists sought to improve the quality of life for older people. Their mission saw the start of MHA, and to this day, we remain incredibly proud of our connection to the Methodist faith and those we have helped by coming together as one.

Our Methodist beliefs and values play a vital role in all we do, including our dedicated chaplaincy service that supports the spiritual needs of our residents and members, alongside our annual MHA Sunday service, where we celebrate our collaboration. We actively encourage inclusivity and working as one, so involve your church, faith or religious group and join us as we enable older people to live later life well.

We’re really proud of our chaplaincy service across all our care homes, and most of our retirement living schemes. We place great importance on nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of those we care for, their families and our colleagues, of all faiths and beliefs.

This role is about compassion, listening to and supporting the spiritual and religious needs of those in later life. We’re looking for an empathic and caring person to join our care home teams. Find out more >

Become a volunteer chaplain

You can be part of MHA by volunteering as a chaplain. The role is about compassion, listening to, and supporting residents and families. We’re looking for empathic and caring people to work alongside our chaplains, listening and supporting those in our homes and schemes. View our current volunteer chaplain opportunities >

You can be part of #TeamMHA by volunteering as an MHA church or circuit rep. The role primarily involves sharing information and updates from MHA to members and friends within the church.
