Sushi tasting to bring back memories for Elmside residents

Residents at MHA’s Elmside Care Home in Hitchin will be enjoying sushi and Chinese New Year celebrations on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 January.

The sushi tasting is designed to stimulate the memories of those residents who have been to Japan while providing a new experience for those who haven’t.  The Chinese New Year celebrations are part of the Home’s year-round programme of activities which aims to keep the residents active and entertained.  Other future activities include coffee afternoons, concerts and trips.

Elmside Manager Renaud Sockalingum said, “A lot of our residents have travelled to Japan and we are hoping the sushi will bring back some memories, and it’s something different for the other residents to try.  We decided to continue with the oriental theme by holding our Chinese New Year celebrations the same week.”
