Rev Ruth M Gee

Former Methodist Conference President and Chair of the Methodist Council, the Rev Ruth M Gee, is to join the Board of Trustees at older person’s charity MHA.

She was nominated as the Methodist Church representative on the Board and her appointment has been ratified by MHA’s Trustees. Ruth will take up her appointment in September, taking over from David Hall, whose term of office has come to an end.

MHA is an award-winning charity providing care, accommodation and support services for older people throughout England, Scotland and Wales. It was founded in 1943 thanks to the vision of the Rev Walter Hall and the Methodist Conference.

Ruth was President of the Methodist Conference in 2013/14 and Chair of the Methodist Council from 2013 to 2018. In addition she is the Connexional ecumenical officer for the Methodist Church and has previously been Chair of the Darlington District.

Ruth said about her appointment: “I am delighted to be joining the Board of MHA at such an exciting time for the charity. There has always been a connection between the charity and the Methodist Church and I am looking forward to helping strengthen and develop his relationship as a trustee.”

MHA’s Chair of Trustees, John Robinson CBE, said: “Ruth brings a wealth of experience to our Board and I and my fellow trustees are looking forward to working with her as we take MHA in to its next chapter after celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2018.

“I would also like to express my thanks to David Hall for his sterling work with MHA as Methodist Church representative for the past six years and his service before that.”
