The grandson of a resident living at MHA Belvedere Manor brought his wedding to the home after his grandma couldn't attend his big day.

Peggy Carpenter lives at the Colne home and was unable to witness her grandson, Brad's wedding due to her health.

To ensure his grandmother didn't miss out Brad and his bride Hannah made their way to the home for a blessing of their vows by chaplain Joseph Gilson.

The home provides residential or dementia care needs for 84 residents and made sure the atmosphere was just like a real wedding.

The blessing was witnessed by the families of the bride and groom as well as residents and staff.

Speaking after the ceremony Peggy said: “It was a great surprise to see the wedding and the whole thing was wonderful.

“It was unbelievable, it was a special day and everyone had worked very hard to set it up.

“The home looked amazing, the decorations and everything that was arranged was just perfect.

“I really enjoy living at the home and it's great, I get looked after really well and don't have to do any work.

“I am really happy for the couple and my advice to them is to look after each other give and take and let each other have their own space.”
