MHA Communities Kent has organised a reboot day to encourage members of the community to get involved with them.

The Reboot day will take place on Friday September 23 from 11am to 4pm in the communal area of the MHA Grace Court building.

The purpose of the day is to encourage service users and volunteers to support members during the lunch and social clubs as well as the befriending scheme.

Members from East Kent College and the Kent Coast volunteers will also be attending, with the college group offering free laptops to retired members as part of a new technology group set up by MHA Communities Kent.

Justin Edwards, community manager said: “The reboot day is a great way for us to collaborate with the community in our area.

“We hope to encourage more residents in the area to sign up either as a service user or volunteer.

“We want to find out what it is that older people in our area want and look for ways to get them involved.

“There will be other community networks attending, with a flower arranging demo as well as a seated dance group.

“We will be serving a free lunch with a local fish and chips trailer supplying the food.

“It is a free event, but we are more than happy to accept any donations, which will go towards our amenity fund.

“We are looking forward to seeing some new faces from the community to come in and see what we are about, and hopefully get them involved moving forward.”
