MHA Sandygate all smiles after strong performance following Care Quality Commission inspection

Staff and residents at MHA Sandygate have plenty to smile about following the home's recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

The Rotherham home received a ‘good’ rating following the conclusion of their recent inspection and were praised for positive culture in the home and the management team and staff understood the importance of effective teamwork.

The report also mentioned

  • People were safeguarded from the risk of abuse. 
  • Staff knew how to report and recognise concerns and felt confident the management team would take appropriate actions to keep people safe.
  • Risks associated with people's care were identified and actions taken to mitigate risks. 
  • Health and safety checks on the building were carried out in line with current expectations.
  • Accidents and incidents were analysed to ensure future incidents were mitigated. 
  • People received their medicines as prescribed.

The home has 54 beds, offering dementia care for 21 residents and residential care for 33 residents. 

Jodi Harris, home manager said: “I am very proud of the staff and the achievement we have all reached.

“It's a huge testament to all the hard work we have put in here at MHA Sandygate

“Our aim now is to achieve the same rating as a minimum, but to keep improving and try to reach the outstanding rating.

“Once again, I would like to thank everyone for their hard work.”
