MHA Langholme decided to throw a garden party to celebrate being able to open its doors to family and friends following a Covid outbreak.

The home, based in Falmouth has been closed for visitors due to a Covid outbreak, but thankfully they are able to welcome family members and visitors back into the home.

Among the attendees were the Mayor and Mayoress of Falmouth, Steve and Vicky Eva as well as staff members who were not working on the day, but still wanted to be a part of the celebrations.

A feast consisting of canapes and prosecco was laid on and everyone had a great time.

Maria Browne, home manager, said: “The garden party was great and it was the perfect way to celebrate families coming back to visit.

“It took us almost a month to plan the party, but the day went really well and the weather was beautiful.

“The Mayor was amazing and gave a speech before the party started and I was also given an award on behalf of the Mayor for the work we have done during a very difficult period.

“Staff members also presented me with gift vouchers, and I was very humbled to receive them.

“My staff members deserve as much credit as me, there were some daunting days, but thankfully the outbreak didn't affect the home in terms of fatalities.

“It was a great feeling seeing people coming back into our home and despite the tough times we managed to stick together and work through it.”
