Members of the community rallied round and helped to raise more than £500 for MHA Norwood.

The Ipswich home organised a community garden party with more than 80 guests including family members of residents, staff and volunteers.

The home offers residential and dementia care for 45 residents.

There was a wide array of activities and events as well as live entertainment in the form of local singer Nick Brown.

The home managed to raise just under £550 which will go towards their amenities fund.

Sergio Ishmael, activity coordinator said: “The garden party had a similar theme to last year and again it was a great day.

“I came at half six in the morning to make sure we were good to go, and it was a long day, but worth it.

“We received some great help from volunteers and family members who were manning the stalls.

“The weather was perfect, not too cold and not too hot, everyone was saying it was ideal for the day.

“We managed to raise a really good amount and to raise almost £550 in one day is a great achievement.

“I want to thank everyone for their support, and we will make sure the money raised will go a long way towards supporting our residents.”
