A community defibrillator has been installed in Falmouth thanks to MHA.

MHA Langholme have installed a defibrillator to be used by the community in the grounds of the home.

The defibrillator will be accessible for anyone in the area needing to use it and will require a code from the emergency services to activate it

MHA are hoping to install defibrillators across all their homes.

The home provides residential and residential dementia care for 40 residents.

Maria Browne, home manager said: “This is a brilliant initiative led by MHA and something that will benefit so many people.

“Here at MHA Langholme working with and supporting the community is something we are always keen to do, and this is just one example of this.

“Recently we also unveiled a words of wisdom bench, which contains quotes from residents and has become the talk of the town with onlookers and members of the community taking a big interest in it.

“The defibrillator is registered with the emergency services and will require a code from them when someone needs to use it.

“We have two in close proximity now in Falmouth and I think it's a great asset to the area.

“A defibrillator can be lifesaving and to enable not just our staff, residents and family members but also our community members to have access to something which can potentially save their life is always a good thing.”
