Staff and residents made sure a big fuss was made following the 105th birthday of a resident at MHA Stones Place.

Muriel Beattie lives at the Lincoln home and to mark her birthday an afternoon tea party was arranged for her.

There was prosecco, bucks fizz and some birthday cake, prepared by the kitchen staff to top off the refreshments.

The home provides residential care for 42 residents.

Muriel’s son Stuart came to visit her along with her granddaughter and great grandson.

The Mayor of Lincoln, Councillor Biff Bean was also in attendance

Stacey Allen, activity coordinator said: “Muriel’s birthday party was a very pleasant surprise for her as when she saw her son she said to him that no one had wished her a happy birthday.

“As soon as he brought her into the dining room where the afternoon tea party was set up she had a huge smile on her face and was very happy.

“The staff and residents all sang happy birthday and Muriel was very thankful for her surprise.

“She was extremely happy when she saw her cake and gave a lot of thanks to the kitchen staff.

“It was a great day for her, she saw some of her friends from the church and was constantly smiling.

“The Telegram from the king was definitely the highlight of the day for her and everyone had a great time.”
