Dying Matters
Every year at MHA we recognise Dying Matters Awareness Week as a moment to encourage everyone to get talking about end of life in whatever way, shape or form works for them.
This year, Dying Matters Week takes place from 2 - 6 May 2022, although we should add, as part of our End of Life Strategy, we also want people to think about these issues all year round.
At MHA, end of life care is really important to us and as a chaplain, I’ve always felt it to be a great honour to be there for someone in their last moments. I’ve written another piece about the importance of end of life care >
The theme of this year’s Dying Matters Week is being in a good place to die and the below videos explore the key themes within this.
Being in a good place Financially
Being in a good place Emotionally
Being in a good place Spiritually
It’s also really important to be able to honour the person who has died in the way you wish to. We have a place to share thoughts, and photos to celebrate a life well lived called the Memory Meadow.
