social clubs

It’s not just lunch and breakfast – many Live at Home community groups hold social clubs for crafts, games, activities, exercise and making friends.

Live at Home communities are local groups aimed at supporting older people to maintain their independence by participating in, supporting or leading a range of different groups, clubs and activities.

Each scheme is different – with a mix of services suited to the local area and tailored to meet the differing needs within the local community. Our groups also provide various volunteer-led befriending services, offering support and companionship to older people who feel or are at risk of becoming lonely and/or socially isolated.

Often based around coffee mornings, these social clubs are a chance for members to get together, have some fun and company and enjoy an activity.

Promoting physical wellbeing, many Live at Home communities offer varied and interesting exercise classes to encourage members to keep active and mobile. All classes are designed to be as inclusive as possible so that members of all physical abilities are able to take part.

Each Live at Home group has its own calendar of exciting social clubs - our activities are member-centred so activities are dependent on the needs of our members and can differ by location. Some activities include:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Cheerleading
  • Men’s clubs
  • Exercise classes
  • Pub lunches
  • Computer skills
  • Quizzes
  • Tea dance.

There may be a small fee to participate. We keep the costs down by fundraising.
