Services for older people in South Yorkshire
At MHA Communities South Yorkshire, we want to enable older people to stay living independently in their own homes for as long as possible, with the best possible quality of life.
Through befriending, lunch clubs, assisted shopping, activity and friendship sessions, outings, escorts to appointments and much more, MHA Communities across the UK help to tackle loneliness and isolation in people over 65 – helping them to lead fulfilled lives and remain as active members in their local communities.
The scheme's activities programme is designed and led by its members and volunteers to ensure that we are providing the practical and social support which those we serve need.
One member said, "I love coming to the group, the food is always good. They even cook me something different if I can’t eat what is on offer as I don’t eat read meat. If I could come every day I would. We have a right laugh and there’s always a friendly face."
Contact us today to see how we could be of service to you or a loved one living at home.
Information for businesses and corporates
MHA is able to subsidise many of its charitable services thanks to the generous contributions of businesses who want to make a difference in their local communities. How to get involved
Information for families and friends
If you’re looking at MHA Communities to help someone you know, we understand. With a busy work life, family and other responsibilities, sometimes it just isn’t possible to travel regularly and give a loved one the dedicated care and support you wish you could provide. Information for healthcare professionals
If an older person in hospital has no family, friends or neighbours, we can assist them to return home. We work with GP practices, hospital discharge and re-enablement teams and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to support older people adjust and settle back at home after a period in hospital.
