MHA Willowcroft celebrated the 80-year anniversary for its organisation with a community party.

The Derby home arranged an open event where family members of residents, members of the community as well as staff and residents were present.

MHA will be celebrating its 80-year anniversary later this year.

The event opened with an opening prayer by the chaplain Paul Hygate followed by some hymns and then a blessing by Kate Smedley, curate at St Werburghs in Spondon.

The event was concluded with live entertainment by Donna Bell, a professional vocalist and entertainer based in Sheffield.

Kate Prince, home manager said: “I feel very fortunate to work for an organisation like MHA and it's commendable to see them celebrate 80 years.

“The values and the reputation that MHA has is something that makes me proud to work here.

“This event took around four months to plan but it was brilliant.

“The weather was amazing, everyone had a great time, and it was a brilliant opportunity to get together.

“The turnout was great, we had staff from our head office, family members of residents and members of the local community.

Paul Hygate, chaplain added: “We invited our local church links to come and join in with our celebration and it was great to see them.

“Our home here in Spondon and MHA in general is very important to a lot of communities across the UK and it was a very proud moment to celebrate our organisations success with our community.”
