MHA Engelberg got residents in the spirit of Christmas by hosting a fair and managed to raise £200.

The Wolverhampton home opened its doors to the community and arranged a Christmas fair.

More than 100 people including relatives, residents and staff were present.

The home offers residential care for 34 residents.

There was tombola, a raffle and crafts stall as well as mince pies and refreshments.

The home also arranged for magicians to keep everyone entertained and that proved to be a big hit with residents.

Karyn, activity coordinator said: “The fair turned out to be better than what we expected.

“The purpose of it was to get our residents into the spirit of Christmas and I do think we did that.

“They really enjoyed the magician's tricks and were in awe of what was happening.

“The day had a very warm atmosphere, and it was nice to see the support shown to us by the local community.

“We got a lot of great feedback from the residents and their families which made it extra special.

“The fund raised will go towards the residents amenities fund which will be used for various things such as trips, activities and entertainment.”
