20 family members come together to celebrate 100th birthday at MHA The Fairways

20 family members including some from Australia came together to celebrate the 100th birthday of a resident at MHA The Fairways.

Kath Miller lives at the Chippenham and celebrated her 100th birthday with a private party at the home.

One of the dining rooms at the home was set up for Kath and her family to enjoy her big day.

She received plenty of cards from family, residents, and staff as well as a telegram from the king to mark her landmark birthday.

Staff members Tracey Curd and Adam Summers were serving on the day, with Adam coming in especially on his day off.

The home provides residential and residential dementia care for 60 residents.

Speaking after the party, Tracey, who works as an administration manager said: “ We had a great day celebrating Kath’s birthday and one that will be remembered for a long time.

“Kath had her sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren here and we were so happy to accommodate all of them.

“Some of her family arrived from Australia, so we made sure she has a lasting memory of the day by printing out a family photo and framing it for her.

“The dining room was decked with balloons, banners and birthday themed tablecloths.

“It was so nice to be a part of Kath’s big day and it was worth all the preparation it took.

“Our kitchen staff prepared a lovely meal and most importantly, Kath had a great time and told us she loved the day."
