Chaplaincy and Pastoral Support
Chaplaincy has always been one of the services that make MHA special and different from most other care providers for older people. Over the past few years the role of Chaplain has been developed and expanded in many respects, and all our residential care settings benefit from the services of a Chaplain. The Chaplaincy service is widely recognised and respected, both within MHA and beyond and is available to all staff members who may benefit from pastoral care and support to help meet spiritual needs.
At MHA we all have responsibilities to each other and the older people we serve. Your attendance at work is important and we will naturally be concerned if you are frequently ill. Your line manager is there to help or advise if there is a problem. acknowledge that support is often required and our independent free counselling can help, with specialist advisers in health, stress, and financial commitments amongst many other matters. You are entitled to telephone support and face-to-face counselling at a local venue, free of charge.
Long Service Award
We want MHA to be an ‘employer of choice’ for people by providing a positive and supportive working environment. To this end, we reward long-serving staff members’ commitment and loyalty. After five years, and every five years after that, each MHA staff member will receive a certificate and badge. Retail and holiday vouchers can be chosen to these values:
After 25 years’ service, an individual will be invited to a party organised in their honour and be able to select a gift to the value of £300.
We aim to offer you flexibility in choosing the benefits you like, wherever possible. To support this, we offer members of staff the opportunity to have more holidays or be paid for the time instead – whichever you prefer. Staff members can 'buy' an additional week’s holiday each year or ‘sell’ up to a week’s holiday (dependent on entitlement and the Working Time Regulations*). Other staff rewards available to you are:
