The fruit of a legacy from a local GP, Dr Willcox, these retirement living with care apartments were built in 1972 and run by a local firm of solicitors with a group of trustees.

It was understood, however, that if ever the development could no longer be looked after by its original management then MHA would welcome it. That handover took place in December 2004.

Willcox Close comprises of bungalows and apartments providing a choice of one and two bedroom accommodation.

"Willcox Close is a friendly place,” writes one resident. “There are things to do if you want and there’s always someone around.”
