We want everyone to be able to enjoy later life, where they are able to contribute and gain from their local areas and in society as whole. Policy and influencing are important to MHA's work because they have the power to transform later life for the better.

Our policy and influencing work includes:

  • Seeking to influence policy and practice at a local, regional and national level on issues that impact on people in later life, such as loneliness and wellbeing, finance and pensions, housing, health and social care including dementia, intergenerational matters and workforce issues including caring responsibilities and older workers.
  • Giving MHA an authoritative voice on ageing issues, informed by what older people have told us in our research and our experiences of providing services to support older people.
  • Building relationships and partnerships with people and help us to help more older people through the work we do.
