Your Care Rating 2014

How is MHA doing? There are lots of ways we could evaluate our performance, but I’d say that the most important thing is that our residents and service users feel safe and are happy. They are the people we are serving, so theirs are the opinions that matter. Which is why I’m so pleased that our care home residents gave MHA a big endorsement with an overall satisfaction rate of 97% in the most recent Your Care Rating survey.

As this is an independent, national poll of care home residents,  the results are particulary welcome. As well as the 97% overall satisfaction score, MHA care home residents gave scores of close to 100% for  areas such as staff treating them with kindness, dignity and respect, MHA homes being clean, tidy and safe, and that their privacy is respected.  44 of MHA’s 89 care homes received  a perfect 100% overall satisfaction rating in their individual surveys.

But despite these excellent results we are not complacent – far from it. We are obviously delighted that our residents are so pleased with the care and quality of life they receive, but results like this aren’t a reason to sit back, they’re a reason to keep going, keep striving to improve every aspect of life in all our services, whether that be our Care Homes, Retirement Living or Live at Home schemes,We will keep on looking for ways to be the very best that we can be for all the older people we serve.
