In a special MHA reunion, teenage sweethearts Jill Wilson (left) and Ken Freeman (centre) - who now live in care homes 100-miles apart - have been brought together thanks to the help of Live at Home Scheme member Lawrence Neal (right).

Jill Wilson, a resident at MHA Engelberg care home in Wolverhampton went to stay in Aberystwyth for a few days with her friend Lawrence Neal who is a member of the MHA Shifnal, Albrighton & District Live at Home Scheme.

While visiting the seaside town, Lawrence enabled Jill to meet up with her teenage sweetheart Ken Freeman, who lives at MHA Hafan y Waun care home.

Speaking about the reunion, MHA Volunteer Co-ordinator Nicky Herriot said: "Ken and Jill had courted many years ago when he was a corporal doing his National Service but had eventually married other people.

"Ken was pleasantly surprised when I told him that Jill was here to visit him. He was delighted to see her and the three of them spent the afternoon enjoying refreshments and walking around our gardens."
