Members of the public are invited to a Christmas fair and open day at MHA’s Queenswood Care Home on Cliffgrove Avenue, Beeston from 11am to 4pm on Friday 1 December.

The staff will be dressed as favourite Christmas characters and there will be craft stalls, cakes, music and a raffle.  Entrance is free.  Money raised by the fair will be spent on garden furniture to help residents make the most of the Home’s beautiful gardens in summer.

The fair is part of MHA’s Good Deed-cember campaign to raise money for its services for older people.  More information is available at www.gooddeedcember.org.uk.

Manager Shirley Reece Johnson said, “When I took over as Manager earlier this year, I noticed that, while the Home has extensive grounds and a fully accessible summer house, the plastic chairs were not very easy for people with mobility problems to use.  We will spend the money raised by the fair on some more suitable garden furniture so that our residents will be able to benefit from being outside next summer.  And we’re hoping that, by buying it in winter, we’ll be able to get a bargain.”
