Residents of MHA’s ‘Outstanding’ Cedar Lawn Care Home will get some extra Christmas treats, thanks to a nearly new sale at Stratford-upon-Avon Methodist Church, Old Town from 2 to 4pm on Saturday (9 December).
Entrance to the sale will be free. There will be coffee and mince pies on sale. The proceeds will pay for Christmas presents for Cedar Lawn’s residents and the Home’s first Christmas vintage afternoon tea party. Friends and relatives have donated vintage cups and saucers for the event and members of staff will be wearing Christmas costumes.
The tea party is just one of the Christmas activities residents will be enjoying this month, with bell-ringers, a ’50s singer, a music hall act and a children’s choir lined up.
Manager Linda Traynier said, “This is the first time we’ve raised funds with a nearly new sale and the first time we’ve held a Christmas vintage afternoon tea. We will also be using the money raised by the sale to buy Christmas presents for residents, some of whom don’t have any family and might, otherwise, not get very much on Christmas morning. Anyone who would like to donate any more nearly new items can bring them along to the sale on the day.”
Cedar Lawn Care Home on Cedar Close, Stratford-upon-Avon is judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and social care in England.”
