MHA is one of most recommended groups in UK

The leading care home reviews site, carehome.co.uk, has announced that MHA is one of the winners of its Top 20 Care Home Awards.

The award, which has been made to MHA as a whole and to 11 individual homes, is based on reviews of care homes written by their residents, as well as their friends and relatives, with thousands of homes battling it out to make it into the Top 20 for each of the 12 regions.

Looking for a care home for a relative or a friend can be an arduous and time-consuming business as well as being very emotional due to it being a huge life change. carehome.co.uk launched its awards back in 2014, with the aim of making people’s search for a care home easier.

Davina Ludlow, chair of carehome.co.uk, said: “It is the residents and their families and friends who have first-hand experience of what a care home is like, which is why we use their reviews to find the best care homes in the UK. Their reviews reveal that many care homes are warm and sociable places, where residents can interact with others and take part in stimulating activities, looked after by staff who are caring and compassionate.”

MHA Chief Executive Sam Monaghan said: “This is fantastic news, reflecting the ongoing commitment of our staff to improving standards across all aspects of our work, whether that be safety, leadership or systems. But what’s most heartening, shining through these reviews from residents, families and other people closely involved with our homes, is the genuine care and concern for the people we look after.”

There are over 18,500 care homes in the UK and residents, relatives and friends rate the homes on their overall standard, their facilities, the quality of their care and support, cleanliness, whether residents are treated with dignity, the standard of food and drink, staff, activities, management, security and value for money.  

carehome.co.uk recently teamed up with Google so people can quickly see a care home’s average review rating on Google’s search results. Highly rated care homes on Google can expect to get more traffic than those with no ratings due to the trust factor.

The carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards 2018 are based on over 75,000 reviews received from residents and their family and friends between July 2015 and January 2018.   

MHA’s winning Homes are Lawnfield House, Cedar Lawn, Charnwood House, Claybourne, Fitzwarren House, Pennystone Court, Willersley House, Kenbrook, Reuben Manor, Willesden Court and Morel Court.  The full list of winners can be viewed here.
