Jacko and Keith at Anjulita Court enjoying Valentine meal

Love is always in the air at MHA and not just on Valentine’s Day.

Meet Keith and Jacko, residents at MHA Anjulita Court care home in Bedford, who met and married more than 60 years ago.

Keith met Jacko in the Army at Sandhurst in the early 1950s when he was a Lieutenant. He was so in love with Jacko that, after they married in 1954, he couldn’t bear to be apart from his wife and left the Army to be with her.

Keith started his own property development business, which he ran for over 50 years while Jacko stayed at home to support her husband and raise their two children.

Sadly, Jacko developed dementia and came to live at Anjulita Court in 2018. Keith missed his wife not being at home so much that he joined her a few months later so they can spend their later lives together.

The activities at the home keep Keith busy during the day but he mostly enjoys spending time with his wife watching television. As Jacko says "he might have earnt all the money but I’m still the boss!"
