Community was building in Pickering today when prospective residents of MHA’s upcoming Mickle Hill retirement village met for food and friendship.
The sell-out event at Pickering Memorial Hall was a chance for people to learn more about the upcoming community and their prospective neighbours. Guests were given a flavour of the catering to expect at Mickle Hill’s café bistro with a menu of cakes and savouries prepared by an MHA chef.
MHA is a national charity providing accommodation, care and support services to 16,000 older people.
As well as 90 apartments and 78 bungalows, with tailored care packages available from an on-site team, Mickle Hill will have its own café bistro, coffee shop, cinema, landscaped gardens and hairdressing salon.
The day was the latest in a series of “Stepping Stones” events, where people in and around Pickering can come to find out more about the retirement village and register their interest. The next Mickle Hill day will be held in February.
Karl Hallows, Development Director at MHA, said, “We’re very glad to be able to provide this service in Pickering, which we believe will empower and enable older people to continue living independent lives in their own homes, now and into the future.”
