A fashion show at a retirement living development has raised nearly £500 for cancer support in Market Harborough.

Welland Place hosted the Over 60s Fashion Show, where models displayed clothing from Bon Marche in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support. As well as the catwalk, guests could browse bags and jewellery from Ice Cube Fashion and shoes by Rieker.

The event raised £484 in total, with approximately 70 guests enjoying cocktails and canapés to start the evening before sitting back to watch Bon Marche staff model the designs.

Olga Hagan, Sales Co-ordinator at Welland Place, said, “We had a really fantastic evening of fashion and fundraising. Welland Place is a key part of the local community in Market Harborough and we are delighted to have hosted an event that will support people in the area with cancer and their loved ones.”

Welland Place is part of MHA, the national charity providing accommodation, care and support services to 16,000 older people. It is a retirement living with care community, where apartments are served by an emergency response service and tailored care and support packages, all delivered by an on-site staff team. Welland Place also has a swimming pool, gym and spa facilities, a restaurant and secure underground parking.

Olga added, “Welland Place is a very stylish place to live, so it seemed an appropriate place for a charity fashion show. We were also very pleased to welcome Eunice Loney, chair of Market Harborough MacMillan Cancer Support, as a special guest and to present her with the cheque.”
