Queues? Crowds? Jostling to get to the merchandise? No thanks – there is another way. Many people will be doing their Christmas shopping online this year, getting it delivered to their door, and I encourage you to do the same, because in addition to the huge time and sanity savings, you can also get donations made to MHA at no cost to yourself. And if you do it now, those donations will be doubled.

It’s part of Give as You Live – a very simple online platform whereby you do your shopping as usual, but the retailers will donate a percentage of every pound you spend, without charging you any extra. You just log into the Give as You Live website and go to the required websites from there. Over 3,600 stores participate, including John Lewis, eBay, Amazon, Argos, M&S, Debenhams and the Early Learning Centre, so you’re pretty sure to find what you’re looking for.

And if you haven’t signed up yet, Give as You Live will double donations by giving £5 for every new MHA shopper who raises their first £5 with the scheme by the end of the year.

Our work at MHA is always important, but we do find that many older people require more help during the colder months. So if you do your Christmas shopping through Give as You Live, you can be sure that for every gift you buy, you’ll be giving another to a vulnerable older person in one of our homes or schemes, and it won’t cost you a penny.

To register, click here. It’s quick, free, easy and 100% secure.

Thank you - and best wishes to you and yours this Christmas time.
