A Day Centre for older people that closed in 2016 is being reopened by MHA at its Hafan y Waun Care Home, Waunfawr, near Aberystwyth on Monday 12 February.

The 10-place Centre will offer improved services to people aged 55 and over, including those living with dementia.  Services will include a hairdresser, a chiropodist and other facilities to help users stay independent.  It will be open from 9.30am to 3.30pm each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Centre was previously run by Ceredigion County Council until it closed in December 2016.  People can get more information or book a session by calling Hafan y Waun on 01970 636020 or emailing helena.richards@mha.org.uk.

Hafan y Waun Manager Mandy Pilcher said, “The Day Centre has been re-established to provide the local community with a much-needed facility.  The Centre's purpose is to enable an independent and satisfying daily lifestyle offering access to chiropody, bathing facilities and a hairdresser.”
