The arrival of a news staff member is always exciting, and what better way to do it than having him dressing up as Father Christmas.

MHA Cedar Lawn, based in Stratford-Upon-Avon, have recently acquired a new chef, Ben Freeman, who was presented to the residents in a very unique manner.

The home, which provides tailored care for 37 residents, always prepares a Father Christmas from the staff, who gives gifts to the residents on Christmas Day.

And this time around it will be Ben who will be donning the white beard and red suit and after the success of the dress rehearsal it is safe to say the residents really enjoyed his entrance.

Linda Traynier, home manager said: “We have just recruited Ben as a chef and we all feel like he looked amazing as Father Christmas and can’t wait to see him in character again on Christmas Day.

“The practice run went really well and it was nice to see everyone smiling and getting into the Christmas spirit.

“The residents love this, it doesn't matter how silly the nominated Father Christmas looks and it's always a beautiful moment captured for us all.

“We are in the process of preparing the dining room for Christmas, and after the year we have all had I am going all out this time around.

“It's important to get everyone involved, it's been a tough time for everyone and I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year from all of us at MHA Cedar Lawn.”
