A staff member who has spent more than 10 years with the MHA says her “dream came true” when she became a home manager.

Sylwia Fafara joined MHA Hampton Lodge, in Southampton as an administrator in 2011 and quickly rose up the ranks to become admin manager and then working as regional admin support.

In May 2021, she transferred to MHA Greenways, in Bognor Regis and in July applied for the home manager role, something she always wanted to do and is really enjoying.

Sylwia credits MHA for her success and development and completed her Level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care qualification, something which is required to progress as a home manager.

She said: “Ever since I arrived in the UK, I have always been working in social care and it was my dream to become a home manager.

“There have been a lot of challenges, but MHA has been very supportive and I am very committed to the charity.

“Development is crucial and I have been supported all the way and it's because of the support I have managed to progress.

“Working at MHA, you have to be open and honest and discuss issues like development with your line manager.

“You have to have a caring nature and never be shy in asking for support.

“My current role is amazing, I am really enjoying it and for me it's a dream come true.”
