lunch clubs for older people

A chance to get out of the house, have a hot, balanced meal – and not have to do the washing up!

Live at Home community groups organise regular lunch clubs for people in later life, providing the opportunity to get out of the house, meet old friends and make new ones in a warm, friendly setting over a nice hot meal.

Live at Home communities are local groups aimed at supporting older people to maintain their independence by participating in, supporting or leading a range of different groups, clubs and activities. Each scheme is different – with a mix of services suited to the local area and tailored to meet the differing needs within the local community.

Our groups and clubs also provide various volunteer-led befriending services, offering support and companionship to older people who feel or are at risk of becoming lonely and/or socially isolated.

The meals are designed to be healthy, balanced and nutritious and catered to our members’ specific needs. In many instances, we also provide transport to members who would not normally be able to travel independently so that they can join the group too.

Our lunch clubs typically run weekly but in some of our Live at Home communities they may run multiple times a week. They are the perfect opportunity to chat with others whilst having something to eat.

Lunch clubs can help you forge new friendships, share good food and enjoy a selection of interesting activities. Our clubs are friendly and supportive and run by experienced staff with the support of a group of volunteers who wish to give something back to their local community.

To locate your nearest Live at Home community group, please visit our club finder where you’ll also find contact details for the scheme. We hope to welcome you to our lunch club very soon.
