Gardening and Maintenance Volunteers Needed!

What would I be doing as a care home gardening and/or maintenance volunteer?

You would be helping the maintenance team as needed, supporting with maintenance tasks which will include gardening, painting, simple DIY tasks like putting up shelves and general maintenance of the care home building and gardens.  

What impact would I have?

These simple gardening and maintenance tasks could free up another member of staff to help deal with ever-changing environment that the covid-19 outbreak has created in our care homes so any extra help is welcomed.

 We’re looking for people who have the following skills and qualities:

  • Physically able to perform tasks required
  • Knowledge and experience in basic DIY
  • Able to use your initiative and learn new tasks through online training
  • Able to multi task or move from one task to another as needed
  • Well organised
  • Flexible, reliable and punctual
  • Able to take instruction and direction
  • Mindful of infection control and good hygiene at all times
  • Understanding of the needs of older people
  • Enjoy working with older people.
