Volunteer Cleaners Needed!

We are a national charity inspiring the best care at every stage of later life. It is our mission to enable people to live later life well and you could help us achieve this. Amid the coronavirus outbreak, this is more important than ever and we need help in order to keep up the levels of excellent care that we provide.

What would I be doing as a care home cleaning volunteer?

You would be helping the cleaning team as needed, supporting with basic cleaning duties which will include cleaning residents’ rooms and bathrooms, responding to any spillages and keeping communal areas clean and tidy around the care home.

What impact would I have?

These simple cleaning tasks could free up another member of staff to help deal with ever-changing environment that the covid-19 outbreak has created in our care homes so any extra help is welcomed.

We’re looking for people who have the following skills and qualities:

• Physically able to perform tasks required
• Good communication skills
• Flexible
• Ability to take instruction and direction
• Reliable and punctual
• Patience, empathy and understanding of the needs of older people
• Mindful of infection control and good hygiene at all times

You could join a brilliant team just like the one at Victoria Court where the manager, Anette says she’ll get involved to make sure the team can cope with their workload: “I’m not scared to get my hands dirty, I’ll do anything from going in the kitchen cooking, to cleaning flats because we’re a team and that’s the most important thing.”
