We need people to support our community group members, transporting them to activities and running errands.

As a volunteer driver, you will help our community group members to access various activities and services, such as social clubs, exercise classes, health appointments, and shopping trips. You will also provide them with friendly conversation and companionship along the way.

You also need to be reliable, respectful, and compassionate. No previous experience is required, as we will provide you with all the necessary training and support.

How do I apply to become a volunteer driver? 

You can apply online by filling out a short application form. You will also need to complete a DBS check and attend an induction training session before you start your role. Our Volunteering Team will guide you through the application prcoess and be on-hand to answer any questions you may have.

How much time do I need to commit as a volunteer driver? 

The time commitment varies depending on the needs of the older person you are matched with and your availability. Generally, we ask for a minimum of one hour per week for at least six months.

What kind of support will I receive as a volunteer driver?  

You will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator who will match you with an older person, monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.

Travel expenses will be paid.
