Services for older people in Cheshire East
At MHA Communities Cheshire East, we want to enable older people to maintain their independence and live more fulfilled lives.
Through befriending, lunch clubs, assisted shopping, activity and friendship sessions, outings, escorts to appointments and much more, MHA's Live at Home schemes across the UK help to tackle loneliness and isolation in people over 55 – helping them to lead fulfilled lives and remain as active members in their local communities.
The scheme's activities programme is designed and led by its members and volunteers to ensure that we are providing the practical and social support which those we serve need.
One member who has been befriended for a few months, and who has very recently been bereaved, joined the afternoon club for the 1st time. She told a member of staff ‘I haven’t been out of the house for company in nearly 2 years. Today I’ve had a wonderful time, made two new friends and want to be included in everything you do’

Information for businesses and corporates
MHA is able to subsidise many of its charitable services thanks to the generous contributions of businesses who want to make a difference in their local communities. How to get involved
Information for families and friends
If you’re looking at MHA Communities to help someone you know, we understand. With a busy work life, family and other responsibilities, sometimes it just isn’t possible to travel regularly and give a loved one the dedicated care and support you wish you could provide. Refer a family member or friend
Information for healthcare professionals
If an older person in hospital has no family, friends or neighbours, we can assist them to return home. We work with GP practices, hospital discharge and re-enablement teams and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to support older people adjust and settle back at home after a period in hospital. Refer a patient
Information for local authorities
Through our preventative, person-centred services, we can reduce the strain on local health services – delaying, minimising or even preventing people’s need for them. More information
Bible Reflection:
“Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him” (Psalm 34 v 8)
This Psalm was written when David was in great difficulty. It is said to be a Psalm of thanksgiving by an individual but inviting the community to join in.
We are living in very challenging times with coronavirus impacting all of our lives. For some, the consequences of the pandemic are extreme and causing fear and uncertainty. I am reminded of this quote:
“We don’t worship God just when life is good…We worship God because He is good”. (Unknown)
No matter what we are facing today, this week, this month, this year – God is very good and we can trust Him in all circumstances.
