Our High Standards

We’re dedicated to providing some of the highest quality care and support to older people across Great Britain.

We’re proud that our commitment is recognised and reflected in our independent care inspection reports.

90% of our care homes are rated as either good, outstanding or equivalent by care regulators.

97% of our retirement housing with care schemes are rated as either good, outstanding or equivalent by care regulators.
(information correct April 2023).

All our care homes are independently regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in England and Care Inspectorate Wales and Scotland. We openly publish each care home's inspection report on their individual webpage, visit our care homes page to find your local MHA care home.

The CQC and Care Inspectorate undertake regular unannounced inspections, measuring the performance of each home on five key areas:

  1. Are they safe?
  2. Are they effective?
  3. Are they caring?
  4. Are they responsive to people’s needs?
  5. Are they well-led?

We recognise that these questions will be important when choosing a care home for your loved one, that’s why we’re really proud of the high ratings we receive.
