At MHA, we’re dedicated to enabling people to live later life well, providing fun and stimulating activities for our residents and members.

Unlike many other care providers, we are proud that all MHA care homes have an Activities Coordinator who makes sure that the home is offering different types of engagement for our residents, fulfilling their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs.

The Activities Coordinators play a central role within our care homes, regularly engaging with residents to create and facilitate a varied programme of activities that are tailored to meet the individual interests and preferences of each resident. They get to know residents on a one-to-one basis so they understand what they enjoy, their hobbies and pastimes and their wishes for the future.

Our Seize The Day initiative is very popular with our residents and their loved ones. Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home prides itself in being able to facilitate personal and memorable opportunities and activities that enable residents to quite literally 'seize the day'.

The Activities Coordinators also work alongside others who can offer their talents or services so the residents can enjoy something different, like themed days, 1930’s singing groups, belly dancing or African drumming to name a few.

Residents’ participation in activities is logged in their care plan which is reviewed regularly to identify if any changes need to be made to engage the resident more widely.
