What makes Priceholme special?
Where are we?
Perfectly located in a quiet residential area of Scarborough, we are within easy reach of a wide range of amenities and within walking distance of the seafront.
Activities, trips and events
Our landscaped gardens and patio areas are perfect places to relax and enjoy the sunshine. And our hair salon is great for a spot of pampering.
We have a schedule of optional events and activities, helping residents to explore their interests and discover new ones. There’s coffee mornings, armchair exercises, baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, bingo, quizzes, bible studies and church services with our dedicated chaplain.
We also take regular trips out to Peasholm Park, garden centres and for fish and chips on the seafront. With monthly visits from local junior schools, a pen pal service and even wooden horse racing, there’s never a dull moment.
There is also a visiting hairdresser, dentist, optician and chiropodist, but if residents prefer to go out there are always plenty of volunteers to provide escorts to town, which is only 15-minutes away.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
Priceholme is proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. Our chaplain provides a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organises worship for those who wish to participate. Where appropriate, residents are encouraged to maintain links with local faith communities.
Seize the day - unique and memorable opportunities
Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.
Priceholme offers care and comfort, compassion and friendship. At the heart of all we offer is our assurance that you will be treated with the respect and dignity that we all deserve, and if you need anything at all, we’re here to help, 24 hours a day.
Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. Let us know if it’s music, a favourite newspaper, exercise or a spot of pampering at the salon. Landscaped gardens invite you to appreciate the fresh air, or tend the plants, if you wish. There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.
Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time.
Priceholme has the latest safety and security design features so you can live life to the full with peace of mind.
From the moment you come through our door, it’s down to us to make you and your loved one feel truly at home. Our wider care home environment enriches and inspires. Shared lounges and dining rooms provide an opportunity to enjoy time with friends within our tightly knit home community.
We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled. All bedrooms have an en suite toilet and sink and some rooms enjoy lovely garden views. If your loved one enjoys catching up with the latest news, sport, chat shows or soaps, there’s a TV in their room, and we have WiFi throughout the home.
We have a call system which can be operated by a hand control or a pendant depending on personal preference. All floors are secured by keypad coding to ensure that residents are safe and secure at all times.
Our residential care is all about providing a special kind of home from home. It’s our way of making sure your loved one continues to live life to its fullest and remains as independent as possible. It means they can get out and about when they want to, catch up with friends or pop to the shops, but with the added security and peace of mind that comes from knowing 24-hour support is available if they need it.
Our team are on hand to offer just the right amount of care, giving those who need it support with activities such as bathing, dressing and mealtimes. Without having to worry about cooking meals, washing clothes or getting the hoover out, you’ll see your loved one truly enjoying life and exploring their full potential.
Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time.
