Discover new interests

We’ve a schedule of optional events and activities, helping residents to explore their interests and discover new ones. Along with light yoga, there’s armchair exercises, gardening, baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, bingo, quizzes, bible studies and church services. We also have a dedicated chaplain and offer music therapy for our residents living with dementia.

Our landscaped gardens and patios are lovely areas to relax and the hair salon is great for a spot of pampering. Our weekly afternoon tea is the perfect place to get together with friends.

Award winning music therapy

We are committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia. Our trained  therapist is funded by charitable donations. They interact directly with residents through live music therapy sessions. This includes singing, playing simple percussion instruments or responding to musical cues in a one-to-one or group setting.  Take a look at our video to find out more about this life changing therapy.

Chaplaincy and pastoral support

We are proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain, who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. The chaplain provides a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate. Where appropriate, residents are encouraged to maintain links with local faith communities.

The chaplain has a person-centred approach and delivers support with warmth, compassion, humour, mutual respect, strength and hope.

Seize the day – unique and memorable opportunities

Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.

Privacy and independence, friendship and support - 24 hours a day

We offer care and comfort, compassion and friendship. At the heart of all we offer is our assurance that you will be treated with the respect and dignity that we all deserve, and if you need anything at all, we’re here to help, 24 hours a day.

Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. Let us know if it’s music, a favourite newspaper, exercise or a spot of pampering at the salon. Landscaped gardens invite you to appreciate the fresh air, or tend the plants, if you wish. There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.

Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time.

We have the latest safety and security design features so you can live life to the full with peace of mind.

Your room

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled.

All bedrooms have a full en suite wet room with toilet and sink. Some rooms also enjoy lovely garden views and we have WiFi throughout the home.

Nursing care

24-hour nursing care, tailored for individual needs. We provide round the clock specialist nursing care for those with medical needs, whether that’s a long-term illness or disability. Medical and other forms of specialist support are delivered with friendly expertise by our highly skilled team of nursing professionals. As you’d expect from our wonderfully compassionate team, nursing care is wholly person-centred to meet the requirements of each individual with respect and dignity at all times.

Nursing dementia care

We’re proud to be recognised for our pioneering approach to dementia care, which is carefully built around each individual. Our dementia facilities here are second to none, and specially designed to provide a reassuringly familiar, engaging and warm environment for those living with us. Residents enjoy music therapy and reminiscence activities, including Active Mind boxes, designed to stimulate social interaction and alleviate the feeling of isolation associated with dementia. Our dementia areas also open into a secure and peaceful garden. Residents living with dementia who require nursing care, benefit from our 24-hour specialist nursing care, delivered with an expert sensitivity to the symptoms of dementia.

Food and drink

Mealtimes are an important part of the day here, giving our residents the opportunity to get together and enjoy freshly prepared food in a relaxed restaurant-style environment. We always offer two meal options and our chefs will happily prepare something special if nothing on the menu appeals.

  • Freshly prepared meals, cooked by our in-house chef
  • All dietary and religious needs catered for
  • Locally sourced meats, fruit and vegetables where possible
  • Seasonal ingredients – menus change three times a year with input from residents
  • Specialist equipment and assistance as needed
  • Snacks and drinks available 24 hours a day
  • Home baking every day
  • Relatives welcome to join residents for meals

Our commitment to your well-being

Our highly-trained, dedicated members of staff will always be on hand to provide your care and support in the way that best suits you, in the comfort of your own room with en suite facilities.

We choose the people who work with us very carefully. They need to share our values and respect people, their life experience and personal choices.

We take pride in the cleanliness and maintenance of your home and provide a thorough and friendly cleaning service. Your personal washing will be carefully laundered and returned to you, clean and fresh.
