What makes Brookfield special?
Activities, trips and events
Our landscaped gardens are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Our hair salon offers an opportunity for a spot of pampering too.
We have an optional schedule of events and activities which we change weekly. This provides something for everyone, helping residents to explore their interests and discover new ones. Residents enjoy activities including arts and crafts, bingo, a spot of gardening and church services too. We also have a dedicated chaplain and offer music therapy for our residents living with dementia.
We have regular visitors from schools, talented singers, musicians and a variety of animals. The residents love when our local mums and babies yoga group come along as they always create a lovely buzz about the place.
Award-winning music therapy
Brookfield care home in Oxford is committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia. Our trained therapist is funded by charitable donations.
The therapist interacts directly with residents through live music therapy sessions. This includes singing, playing simple percussion instruments or responding to musical cues in a one-to-one or group setting. Take a look at our video to find out more about this life-changing therapy.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
Brookfield is proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. The chaplain provides a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate. Where appropriate, residents are encouraged to maintain links with local faith communities.
Seize the day - unique and memorable opportunities
Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.
