60 places for residential and dementia care

Willowcroft is a 60 place residential and dementia Care Home in Spondon, Derbyshire.

Willowcroft is a purpose-built home built over two floors and has recently undergone a £135,000 refurbishment.  The home has two wings providing 30 residential places and 30 places for dementia care.

Every detail of the home’s layout and facilities is designed to enhance the independence and dignity of residents, from the mini-fridges and plasma TVs with Freeview in every room to a secure garden specially landscaped for use by people with dementia.

All rooms come with attractive fitted furniture and some ground floor rooms are available with doors leading out on to a private patio.

Willowcroft is located on the Nottingham Road, on the spacious site of the former Angler’s Arms.

The Home Manager said: “Willowcroft is really very beautiful and in a good location – close to local amenities and a large Asda supermarket. And with a bus stop directly opposite, Derby city centre is a mere ten minutes away.”

Residents at Willowcroft enjoy a wide range of activities and services. “Because MHA is a charity,” the Home Manager explained, “it can offer additional services as well as a varied activities programme. These include the pastoral care of a Chaplain, together with music therapy and reflexology, which have both been shown to contribute to the well-being of individuals living with dementia.”

Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'
