Privacy and independence, friendship and support - 24 hours a day

Waterside House offers care and comfort, compassion and friendship. At the heart of all we offer is our assurance that you will be treated with the respect and dignity that we all deserve, and if you need anything at all, we’re here to help, 24 hours a day.

Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. Let us know if it’s music, a favourite newspaper, exercise or a spot of pampering at the salon. Landscaped gardens invite you to appreciate the fresh air, or tend the plants, if you wish. There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.

Waterside House has the latest safety and security design features so you can live life to the full with peace of mind.

Your room

All our bedrooms have a full en suite wet room with toilet and sink. Some rooms also enjoy lovely garden views, and there’s WiFi throughout the home.

We have a call system which can be operated by a hand control or a pendant depending on personal preference. All floors are secured by keypad coding to ensure that residents are safe and secure at all times.

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled.

Dedicated dementia care

We’re proud to be recognised for our pioneering approach to dementia care, which is carefully built around each individual.

Our specialist dementia care recognises each person as a unique individual. Our caring, professional and fully-trained carers, provide the highest quality care to preserve dignity, treat people with respect and promote independence.

Everyone with dementia is different. That's why a person-centred approach is key: at Richmond, we take time to get to know each individual’s history, personality and preferences, and find ways to make every day fulfilling.

Our purpose built dementia area at Waterside House is designed and decorated to be safe for you, and also as familiar, reassuring and as easy to navigate as possible. The dementia floor is secured by keypad coding to ensure that you are safe and secure at all times.

We ensure residents are fully supported in their everyday lives and tailor some of our activities around dementia needs.

Food and drink

Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time.

Dad would probably want me to mention the food - 'It's excellent'. Nothing left on the plate here.
