51 places for nursing and dementia care

Specially designed, every detail of the home’s layout is created to enhance the independence and dignity of residents.

Trembaths provides nursing and dementia specialist care for up to 51 people. The home is situated within its own grounds in a quiet residential area on Talbot Way in Letchworth. The location is a leafy suburban setting, which ensures both quiet surroundings and a relaxed pace of life.

Trembaths is a short distance from the city centre shops and local amenities such as libraries, an art deco cinema, museum, arts centre and a regular farmers’ market. Close by is the First Garden City Museum, which explains the history of the area and Broadway Gardens in the heart of Letchworth, with beautiful, landscaped views.

Our History

The opening of Trembaths in 1989, together with Westbury in Newport Pagnell, launched MHA into a new era of care. By offering full nursing care in Letchworth, the organisation was setting out to meet the requirements of an increasing number of older people with advancing physical and mental care needs.

In 2003, dementia specialist care was introduced. Through 'awareness days', the home has shared its knowledge with relatives and the public, explaining the effects of dementia and how special care can improve the quality of life.

As one resident says, I have lived here for twelve years and there is nowhere I would rather be. I think the staff are a tremendous team and the care and love showed according to our special needs are truly amazing.”

A tribute to Peggy

In 2018, Oli White, a YouTuber who creates quirky comedy videos, created a beautiful tribute to his nan, Peggy.

Peggy was a resident at Trembaths and Oli has pledged that all proceeds from the film will be donated to Trembaths for the benefit of the residents. Thank you, Oli, on behalf of Trembaths and all at MHA.
