87 places for residential and dementia care

Mapplewell Manor in Barnsley is both a care home and a day centre, providing residential, dementia, daytime and respite care.

We are community-focused at heart, and have taken care to provide an environment where our residents and day centre members can thrive. The purpose-built care home is set in the heart of Mapplewell Village and overlooks Mapplewell Primary School.

All rooms boast en-suites, and residents and centre members also have use of a coffee shop, activities room, hair and beauty salon and a Victorian courtyard with a water feature.

Testing

We have a regular COVID-19 testing programme in place for all residents and staff. Any new residents will be tested on admission.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

We have good stock levels of approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which is worn by all our staff and any visitors to the care home.

Keeping in touch

We’re doing everything we can to stay in touch with residents’ family and loved ones, updating them on the current situation and any changes to visiting through online updates, remotely organised meetings and letters.

We are pleased to offer a variety of services to the community in Mapplewell. In our care home we offer residential and dementia care (though we prefer the term ‘memory care’ for the latter), and this can be permanent or as respite. In addition, the day centre is a safe and stimulating place for daytime activities.

Personalised care plans ensure that we are up to date on each person’s care needs, even as they change. Our staff are recruited for their dedication and skills in supporting residents with their diverse needs, and are well overseen by the Manager.

With a full activity programme, residents can also be sure of plenty of company and social interaction day to day. Our Activities Co-ordinator organises events such as reminiscence therapy, musical entertainment and outings on our minibus.

If you think Mapplewell Manor could help you or a loved one, please get in touch with us. We would love to have you for a coffee and a look around, and to answer any questions.
