What makes us special?
Where are we?
We’re in a quiet residential area, just off Colne Road, close to Burnley General Hospital. Our convenient location ensures that residents can enjoy the peace of their home while remaining connected to the wider world.
Varied, exciting events
Activities are a major part of what we have to offer here. Our passionate Activity Coordinators keep you active and entertained with a fun-packed calendar, making a real difference to your wellbeing. Each day starts with the ‘Daily Sparkle’ and morning coffee. Activities include: singing and music sessions, bingo, dominos, quizzes, art and crafts, daily exercise sessions, movie afternoons, church services, and personal support from our Chaplain.
The first Wednesday of the month is a big social evening with a cabaret, quiz and a pie and peas supper – relatives and friends are invited of course.
We have our own minibus and regularly go out on trips to the countryside, seaside visits to Blackpool or Morecambe, an afternoon at the garden centre, or just out for an ice-cream or fish and chips. We also regularly join the local dementia café. You let us know what you want to do, and we do our best to make it happen for you. And we love any excuse to put on a themed event.
“The activities coordinator is a treasure and so effective at getting everyone engaged, laughing and talking.” Independent relative review, carehome.co.uk
Award-winning music therapy
We are committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia. Our trained therapist is funded by charitable donations.
They interact with residents through live music therapy sessions. This includes singing, playing simple percussion instruments or responding to musical cues in a one-to-one or group setting. Take a look at our video to find out more about this life-changing therapy.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
We’re proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain at Heather Grange, who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. The Chaplain provides a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate.
“The Chaplain for Heather Grange is very supportive not only to residents, but also families.” Independent relative review, carehome.co.uk
Seize the day – making unique and memorable opportunities
Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'. Although we make every day special, we enjoy doing a little bit extra to make dreams come true, such as recently taking a resident ballroom dancing in Blackpool; back to where he met his wife over 50 years ago.

Residential care
Finding a place that you can call "home" is a question of getting the right balance.
Our residential care provides 24 hour support to help residents maintain independence – giving you peace of mind and a place to make new friends and explore new interests.
In many ways it is like living in a luxury hotel, where you don’t need to worry about laundry, changing the bed or cleaning your room. We will use the district nurse and GP's to provide any medical care. Our caring staff help with everyday activities like bathing and dressing and support at meal times.
At the same time, we’ll support you to maintain links with the local community, or develop new friendships. Care staff will help you do that, while also working hard to create a home that’s full of opportunity and possibility.
In the main living areas of the home you will find lounges where you can join in one of the many activities with others or sit quietly with a book or newspaper.
