Where are we?

Anjulita Court is situated on the outskirts of Bedford, on the edge of a country park, with beautifully landscaped gardens and patio areas. We are next door to MHA’s Ladyslaude Court retirement living apartments.

Activities, trips and events

We support everybody’s individual choices, interests and hobbies and our passionate Activity Coordinators love keeping residents active and entertained. They provide a fun-packed and stimulating schedule for people to participate in as they choose.

There’s our choir, armchair exercise sessions, baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, quizzes, bingo, external entertainers and church services, just to mention a few of the things we get up to.

"Mum thoroughly enjoys the company, the activities and the religious services. The variety of entertainment and company has been fantastic for her wellbeing.” Independent review,

Award-winning music therapy

We're committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia. Our music therapist is funded by charitable donations.

They send several days each week at the home and interact directly with residents through live music therapy sessions. This includes singing, playing simple percussion instruments or responding to musical cues in a one-to-one or group setting. Take a look at our video to find out more about this life-changing therapy.

Chaplaincy and pastoral support

We're proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain at Anjulita Court, who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs.

They provide a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate. Where appropriate, residents are encouraged to maintain links with local faith communities.

Seize the day - unique and memorable opportunities

Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.

Anjulita Court offers care and comfort, compassion and friendship. At the heart of all we offer is our assurance that you will be treated with the respect and dignity that we all deserve, and if you need anything at all, we’re here to help, 24 hours a day.

Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. Let us know if it’s music, a favourite newspaper, exercise or a spot of pampering at the salon. Landscaped gardens invite you to appreciate the fresh air, or tend the plants, if you wish. There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.

Anjulita Court has the latest safety and security design features so you can live life to the full with peace of mind.

At MHA, our care begins with you and the specific needs of your loved one. We’ll sit down together to develop a personalised care plan that’s carefully shaped around your loved one’s interests, needs and choices. Round-the-clock care is provided by our close-knit team of highly trained carers, who are incredibly passionate about what they do.

Your room

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled.

All our bedrooms have a full en suite wet room with toilet and sink, and some rooms enjoy lovely garden views.

Residential care

Our residential care is all about providing a special kind of home from home. It’s our way of making sure your loved one continues to live life to its fullest and remains as independent as possible.

It means they can get out and about when they want to, catch up with friends or pop to the shops, but with the added security and peace of mind that comes from knowing 24-hour support is available if needed.

Our team are on hand to offer just the right amount of care, giving those who need it support with activities such as bathing, dressing and mealtimes. Without having to worry about cooking, washing clothes or getting the hoover out, you’ll see your loved one truly enjoying life and exploring their full potential.

Nursing care

24-hour nursing care, tailored for individual needs. We provide round the clock specialist nursing care for those
with medical needs, whether that’s a long-term illness or disability. Medical and other forms of specialist support are delivered with friendly expertise by our highly skilled team of nursing professionals.

As you’d expect from our wonderfully compassionate team, nursing care is wholly person-centred to meet the requirements of each individual with respect and dignity at all times.

Residential dementia care

We’re proud to be recognised for our pioneering approach to dementia care, which is carefully built around each
individual. Our dementia facilities here are second to none, and specially designed to provide a reassuringly familiar, engaging and warm environment for those living with us. Our dementia areas open into a secure and peaceful garden.

Residents enjoy music therapy and reminiscence activities, designed to stimulate social interaction and alleviate the feeling of isolation associated with dementia.

Food and drink

Mealtimes are an important part of the day here, giving our residents the opportunity to get together and enjoy freshly prepared food in a relaxed restaurant-style environment. We always offer two meal options and our chefs will happily prepare something special if nothing on the menu appeals.

  • Freshly prepared meals, cooked by our in-house chef
  • All dietary and religious needs catered for
  • Locally sourced meats, fruit and vegetables where possible
  • Seasonal ingredients – menus change three times a year with input from residents
  • Specialist equipment and assistance as needed
  • Snacks and drinks available 24 hours a day
  • Home baking every day
  • Relatives welcome to join residents for meals

Our commitment to your wellbeing

Our highly-trained, dedicated members of staff will always be on hand to provide your care and support in the way that best suits you, in the comfort of your own room with en suite facilities.

We choose the people who work with us very carefully. They need to share our values and respect people, their life experience and personal choices.

We take pride in the cleanliness and maintenance of your home and provide a thorough and friendly cleaning service. Your personal washing will be carefully laundered and returned to you, clean and fresh.

We have close links with GP surgeries, district nurses and dentists. We also provide regular gentle exercise sessions and residents benefit from our hydrotherapy pool. And our in-house hair salon keeps everyone looking their best.
