The OSCAR (Outstanding Service Contribution And Recognition) awards are MHA’s yearly celebration of the amazing work and dedication of our people. In 2022, we gave out 18 awards to worthy winners, recognising those who go that extra mile to really live the values that underpin our mission to help older people to live later life well.

2022 OSCAR Award categories
This award goes to an individual who champions equality, inclusion and diversity across MHA. This individual consistently promotes inclusive behaviours in all that they do and values everyone for who they are and supports a culture of equality.
Awarded to a volunteer who’s demonstrated outstanding compassion and ongoing commitment to help make a real difference to the lives of the older people that MHA cares for, strengthening collaboration with and support to MHA colleagues.

Awarded to any individual who sees the bigger picture, seeks to improve MHA, and inspires others to achieve great things through doing the right thing.
This award goes to an individual who shows commitment and dedication to driving their professional development and shares their learning for the wider benefit of MHA and their colleagues.
At the heart of how we work together, the One MHA Award will go to an individual who puts collaboration and inclusiveness at the heart of everything they do.
Awarded to a team, or group of people who have worked closely together, that have introduced or continued ways of working that support their colleagues across MHA to deliver their goals or make a difference.
This award is rewarded to three individuals including one from each of our 3 operational service areas; retirement living, care homes and MHA Communities. This award is an opportunity for our residents, members and relatives to nominate their home, scheme or an individual that they believe best represents MHA’s values.
These Awards recognise individual efforts in delivering MHA’s specialist services which enhance later lives. Covering Dementia Care, Nursing Care, Chaplaincy support, Music Therapy for people with dementia and demonstrate the impact of MHA’s care and support.
Walter Hall is MHA’s founder and a true innovator who set up our charity before the NHS to provide for older people in need. These Awards go to a colleague who has gone above and beyond in their role to make a real difference to either their colleagues, our residents or members.
