41 Retirement Living with Care Places

The name Pilgrims Court has its origin in the journeys made by pilgrims in the Middle Ages to the shrine of Saint Mary at Jesus Mount – now known as Jesmond, a suburb of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The Revd John Mitchell made reference to this connection when he opened the Scheme in 1985, linking the name to the idea of “life’s earthly pilgrimage”. He hoped that everyone who made their home here would find blessings similar to those who once made their pilgrimage to Jesus Mount.
Pilgrims Court was completed in 1983. It was designed to meet the environmental specifications required as a result of it being in a conservation area. At that time it had 29 flats – extended just six years later to offer 41 self-contained flats with a communal lounge, kitchen, laundry facilities and hair salon.
At Pilgrims Court, we now provide 24-hour staffing on site. We deliver around the clock support and care tailored to individual needs.
