Bircham House offers 28 one-bedroom flats for individuals and two two-bedroom flats for couples, all purpose-built in 2003.
Bircham House is arranged on two levels with a lift, and wheelchair access throughout. Outside, the courtyard garden has lawns, wide paths and flower beds. There is a central water feature and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the open air.
Residents enjoy a very busy social life, with gardening being a favourite hobby. A mini-greenhouse has recently been added to the Scheme and the list of plants being grown by the greenfingered residents includes geraniums, begonias and daffodils. The local town centre is about ten minutes away and the minibus provided by the Scheme enables regular shopping trips. The manager says, “we are fortunate to enjoy a very active but relaxed and friendly Scheme, where everyone’s made to feel very welcome, joining in the many daily activities including gardening, quizzes and coffee afternoons.”
